This day will provide time and space to reflect on how the four elements of water, earth, fire and air - the Goddesses of Australia - can help you discover Goddess in the Australian landscape, and to celebrate this in ritual. You will

bulletbe lead in a reflection on the elements, showing how their various manifestations echo our own feelings and aspirations;
bulletcome to appreciate how, as an Australian, you inherit a deep earth based spirituality, using the spirituality of Aboriginal peoples as a model for honouring the sacredness of the land;
bullethave time to wander alone in the beautiful surrounds of Wildwood, experiencing the elements more intimately;
bulletbe invited to share the ways in which the elements have revealed Goddess in your life;
bullet

create rituals to celebrate Goddess in Australia.

How does gender affect our attitude to religion and spirituality?

What are women’s stories of life, religion and spirituality?

What are men’s stories of life, religion and spirituality?

The workshop will look firstly at the participants’ own understanding of contemporary religion, and their thoughts relating to gender, religion and spirituality. It will then explore some of the challenging questions that leading scholars are asking about the complex relationships between gender, religion and spirituality.

There will be opportunities for participants to answer these questions for themselves; to share their thoughts in same sex and/or mixed groups; and to consider ways in which the insights gained might enhance their own spiritual understanding and practice.
